I like unify because it offers so much. Many, including professionals, have extolled UNIFY's PolyBox implementation that allows you to take a mono synth and turn it into a poly one thanks to "distribution of incoming MIDI data to multiple INST layers on consecutive MIDI channels."

However, I like it specifically because it reduces the need for many layers in my DAW - I can clump together instruments in UNIFY and treat the output as one unit. It's opened up the way to have a DAW within a DAW - a most welcome 'declutterer!'

I hope to expand this thread as time permits, adding what I learn as I get more familiar with UNIFY and tell you where I learnt it, if applicable. In the case of instructional videos offered by Plugin Guru I will highlight which video to consult for the specifics without giving anything away. I don't intend to re-invent the wheel, just share some encouragement if possible?

Feel free to add your own tips and tricks, but be respectful of instructional videos for sale on the main site: PlugIn Guru (Main Site)

Thanks to the recent (Mother's Day 2025) sales offering, I decided to take the plunge and buy this 'modular' synth.

I listened to a few of Paul Carter's videos which all went over my head; so having committed myself to this acquisition, decided to just sit quietly and have a play. It's my favourite way to learn something new...

From what I gather 'modular' simply means you add your own components (nodes) and link them in the order you desire.

Here's what my first patch looks like...
