New UNIFY user here. Really impressed by the product. I have the standard plug-ins that came with it and added the 'Chilly Pop Phrases Vol.1'.
I am a guitarist first but periodically like to mess around with the synth/midi side of things. Subsequently my overall knowledge of what is best in the synth world isn't the greatest.
I do own Spectrasonics Trillian for Bass guitar needs. Omnisphere was always a curiosity for me but it is pricy. I can justify the cost of Omnisphere if it is considered one of the best (i.e., have to have) synth libraries to own. UNIFY support its. My question is whether it is one of the better products to own?
Are there less pricy alternatives that might be good to look into? I don't need to own every synth library out there of course, but would like some variety. Would also want those synths that have a UNIFY product.
Anybody have some opinions?
Thanks.
All I can tell you is that I bought Omnisphere 2 only after watching enough of John's library-walkthrough videos (long before I knew him), and decided I the high price was worth it to me, to be able to have access to all of John's sounds. To this day, I rarely use the sounds from the factory library.
Omnisphere 2 is indeed a high-priced synth, but it is a very good-sounding, powerful one. As with any virtual instrument, if you like how it sounds, and are reasonably sure you'll use it, then I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed.
