in the Ambient Dream library the BPM SEQ 007 Flowers & Butterflies patch crashes Reaper and even Unify in stand alone mode.
Everything else works perfectly.
it does not crash when loading the patch but just after playing a few notes. sometimes a little more
I am under windows 10 with I7 processor 16 go of ram.
Has anyone noticed the same thing?
Dominique

Hi there Dominique - thank you for the report. Someone reported yesterday this problem, we have isolated what is causing it and are working on a fix. We will have an update soon for Unify that fixes this problem. For the time being, simply don't play below C2. Sorry for the crashes but a fix is on its way!

In addition to that patch, I found "BPM SEQ 09 - Modular Circuits" also crashes Unify standalone. At first I didn't realize this was a one finger patch, so I was holding multiple notes and it crashed consistently in a few seconds. However with one finger, I haven't had that problem. Really there's probably no reason to use more than one finger on those patches, so I wasn't going to worry about it. Anyway, it probably shouldn't be crashing at all, so you might want to look into that as well. Thanks
Edit - on closer examination, it does seem to crash with one finger on higher notes. I'll let you figure it out.
I am experiencing a crash with the patch called BPM BASS - Blinded Me when I use Unify in standalone mode - it plays for a few bars, then the audio glitches and it either crashes immediately, or as soon as I press another key on my keyboard.
Perhaps this is related to the other issues mentioned on this thread ?
Are you still working on a fix ?
Thanks very much.
Are you still working on a fix ?
Absolutely! Thank you for your patience. The fix is in beta-test now, and should be out by this weekend.

Thank you very much for your quick reply - and thank you for all your hard work on what is a great product !! I have bought your v 1.10 video and I am looking forward to watching it later !
I have only just got round to installing the1.10.1 update and I find that I still have the same problem with the BPM BASS - Blinded Me patch.
If I keep a key pressed on my keyboard, it will go round the riff a few times then the audio glitches and the patch is unresponsive. If I switch to a different patch, I can use it. On one occasion, the audio glitched and the program crashed and disappeared off my screen. I am a Windows 10 user. Is there anything else I can tell you to help track down the issue ? Thanks very much.

Thank you for the report, and I'm sorry to hear you're still having trouble.
Based on your description, I'm pretty sure this is a separate issue from the crash which was fixed in Unify v1.10.1. Audio glitching usually indicates overload of some kind.
First, I'm looking for the BPM BASS - Blinded Me patch and not finding it in this library, even after re-downloading and installing the latest. Is this patch actually in the Ambient Dreams library, or in another library?
Two more questions:
- Are you running Unify in a DAW, or standalone? If a DAW, which one?
- What are your audio buffer settings? Buffer lengths shorter than 128 are likely to result in glitching. We recommend 256.
This patch is from Retrosphere v2 - I'm sorry - maybe I shouldn't have mentioned this issue on this thread.
I'm running Unify standalone (although I get the same issue if I run it inside my DAW, which is Cubase.)
I have the buffer set at 512, in the Unify settings.
Thanks for any help that you can give.

Thank you for the additional information. Don't worry about this being the "wrong" thread; we didn't know that at first, and AFAIK the original issue has been resolved, so we might as well continue here.
I installed Retrosphere v2 on my Windows 11 PC, and tested the BPM BASS - Blinded Me patch in Unify stand-alone, with various combinations of sample rate and buffer length, but I haven't been able to reproduce the glitching so far.
FIRST, note that the Retrosphere v2 library was updated at least once. The download file should be called unify_retrosphere_v2_0825.zip. Before going any further, please re-download and re-install the library, then re-test. There's a small chance the issue could have been with an early version of the patch. If this does not fix the issue, I have a few other questions about your setup:
- What are your computer specs (CPU, clock speed, RAM)?
- What type of audio interface are you using (ASIO or built-in), and what driver are you using?
- What sample rate are you using?
- Have you installed/registered any of the plug-ins used in that patch, separately from the versions included with Unify?
- LoudMax
- any MDA VSTs
- Dragonfly Hall
- Which MIDI controller(s) are you using?
- Does the glitch occur if you disconnect your MIDI controller and use a different one, or Unify's on-screen keyboard (click "midi" icon)?
- When the glitch occurs, do Unify's CPU meters go up very high? If so, which layer's CPU meter goes highest?
(To switch on CPU meters, go to Settings, scroll down near the bottom where it says "Show by default", and check "CPU Meters", then quit and re-start Unify for the change to take effect.)
It's now working !
I followed your advice to re-download the zip (although I did already have the updated one) and I re-installed the library and dragged the guru file.
All good now, in standalone mode, and also inside my DAW.
I really appreciate your help - thank you very much.
