Question about Modern Cinema – Back to the 80s (Vital) - How add that bank of patches to to Unify

The basic procedure for creating your own "unified" library is:

1. In Unify, start from the INIT state, then swap in the Instrument plug-in you want (in this case Vital).
2. In Vital, select the first preset you want to save.
3. In Unify, look at the title of the first INST layer, to see if it has already changed to the preset name.
   • Not all plug-ins do this, but Vital should.
   • If it has, double-click the INST layer title as though to edit it, type Ctrl-C (Windows) or Cmd-C (Mac) to copy to the clipboard, and then click anywhere outside the layer title to close the editor again.
4. In Unify, click Save to open the patch-save dialog.
5. Where it says "Library Name", click to open the menu, scroll all the way to the bottom and select "New Library..."
6. Enter the name you want to use, e.g. "Unified - Vital Modern Cinema 80s" and click Confirm.
7. Fill in the rest of the details, such as the preset name, category, tags, etc.
   • If you copied the preset name to the clipboard at step 3, you can paste it into the patch name field now.
   • If there isn't already a prefix like "ARP - ", "KEY - ", etc., you may wish to add an appropriate one
8. When you're satisfied, click "Save As..." and then OK to save the patch.
9. In Vital, select the next preset, then repeat from step 3, skipping steps 5 and 6, because your new library will already be selected.
10. Continue until you have saved one Unify patch for every Vital preset you want.

We always save one Unify patch for every plug-in preset, but you should probably just save the presets you think you'll actually use.

I'll speak to John about including a stripped down unified library for the "non-Unify" version of this library. That's a good idea.

@getdunne Thank you very much, these instructions were easy to follow. I'm working on it now.

It's saving by default to C:\Users\Public\Documents\PlugInGuru\Unify\Libraries\Unified - Vital Modern Cinema 80s\Patches with a .unify file for each patch I save. I'm mentioning that for others who might be following the instructions.

I'm going to study how you, John and others name and tag and follow those naming and tagging protocols. Also going to do the all the patches because why not - I can favorite the ones I use.
