Hello. Maybe I am missing something obvious, but when I load a patch utilizing SerumFX in Airwaves’ new Melodic Techno set, it says it can’t find SerumFX. I can see the FX dll file right below the regular Serum dll file where I installed it. When I run Serum by itself, all the FX are embedded in a patch that utilizes them. I am running Cubase Artist 10 on Windows 10. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks.

You need to locate the SerumFX VST plug-in, and register it with Unify as described here: https://pluginguru.net/unify/manual/doku.php?id=scanning#registering_individual_plug-ins .

SerumFX is a NOT Serum; it's a separate plug-in. It's free for anyone who buys Serum, but it's a separate install, so you might need to go back to the Xfer Records web site and get it.

If you are seeing SerumFX dll, where your Serum dll is installed then as you say you will have SerumFX in Cubase.

The only thing I would say is Unify is only aware of Serum because you have scanned it into Unify, you have to do the same thing with SerumFX. I installed Serum, but did not even know about SerumFX. When I saw that the Unify library needed, SerumFX, I downloaded FX which is free for all Serum owners. I installed it and therefore I could see it in my DAW. Then I loaded Unify and dragged the FX dll into Unify like any other dll. I put it into my list of "Audio Effects" to allow Unify to identify it as such. If you have not completed all these steps I think Unify will not find the effect rack.

@getdunne Thank you. It is now installed and running. This was my first plugin to install after initially installing Unify so I forgot about scanning after I had installed SerumFx. Once again, many thanks.

I just upgraded to Unify 1.1.3 and just noticed I can't load any of the AIRWAVE Melodic Techno patches as Unify can't find Serum. I updated to latest version of Serum and ran a scan in Unify (Serum and Serum FX were already listed under AU instruments Unify recognised). I still get the error message seen in attached pic: "Errors loading Unify preset. Loading plugin "Serum", tried all known alternates, failed".

Any ideas on what might be causing this issue? I'd greatly appreciate any advice from those who may have encountered this issue.

Many thanks in advance and very impressed with v 1.1.3 so far. Shane and John are doing terrific work with this software and I'm so pleased to have been an early adopter. Can't wait to see where it goes from here.

Also wanted to attach a screen cap indicating that Unify has scanned and recognised Serum. See attachment.

You scanned the AU versions. The Airwave library needs the VST version.
