UniSCREAM not showing in Unify Browse
UniSCREAM solicitation for patches is a great idea. Thank you for promoting it. I have never tried an add-on library before so I am probably missing something. I have my Unify registered and working with the Factory and User library just fine. I tried dragging over the UniSCREAM library but it does not show under "All Libraries". I have the new key you sent for SCREAM, but when I press the padlock icon on Unify, it says I have no new/unauthorized products ?? Thanks!
You don't need a "key" for UniScream. Which version of Unify are you running, and are you on PC or Mac?
The UniScream library comes as a .zip file. You need to unzip that, then drag the resulting .guru file over the Unify GUI. Unify should pop up a window asking if you want to install the new library. After you click OK to install, Unify should automatically rebuild the patch database. If you didn't see all that, it didn't install.
@getdunne STOP THE PRESSES. I got it working. I was using 7zip and dragging xxx.guru from 7zip explorer to Unify, letting 7zip decompress to a buffer. This time I specifically unzipped Scream to a folder first, then dragged it over. The patch names ticked by as they read in, which did not happen before. Oddly, even on the failed attempts, Unify gave confirmation that the library was accepted. ANYWAY- all good now, Thank you!
Another edit- You definitely need to decompress libraries to a folder first. I thought my base library came in OK, but it did not- I was only upgrading, so since most of the patches were there, I thought they all were. You need to see the patch names fly by in the window as they are read in, otherwise the "completed" window will show, but the patches won't be there. 🙂
@bluescat Glad you got it working, and thanks for explaining what happened. Very useful to know!
