Thanks John for the BPM PAD concept... love it. There some real guitar in this little sketch too.  All first takes, a quick produciton.

So I made this track to use it - I ended up putting it on the Rhodes, the guitar and the acoustic piano (which I think is the least successful of the three). Patches used were as follows:

Keyscape - Rhodes - Classic Amp

AAS StringStudio - Velo Drive Bass

Groove Summit V1 - BPM DRUM - C1-03 Basics Bob <horseshoe>

Groove Summit V1 - BPM DRUM - C5-03 Cabasa Passion 16s

MegaMagic Guitars - GTR - RR 3x Steel Only DRY

Keyscape - LA Custom C7 - Softest

O2 MegaMagic Dreams - zPAD - Solina Wanna Be

plus my soprano sax.

Enjoy!

The chord structure is based around the same chords as the jazz standard 'Black Orpheus' (also known as 'Manha de Carnaval'), but in Dm rather than the usual Am, and at half speed through the changes. It features the following patches:

Groove Summit V1 - BPM DRUM - C3 - 07 Hi_Snap Chill SStk

Keyscape - Rhodes - Classic Chorus

Keyscape - Dolceola (a nice pluck sound to double up the Rhodes sound)

Keyscape - LA Custom C7 - Softest

Keyscape - Wurlitzer 200A - Rocker 1

DiscoverStation - ORCH - Flutes in Paradise

plus my soprano sax.

Anyway, as such, we are pretty bummed out today, the house seems empty, just me and Mrs. Nothwood rattling around feeling a bit lost.  If you've ever lost a pet, its like losing a family member, or it should be! lol. We've had dogs for over 40 eyars, and now we've decided thats it... getting too old to get a new one.

So I decided to distract myself by using the record function in Unfiy2 standalone and just randomly pick BPM PAD patches whilst playing live.  The resulting tune is a bit bizarre, so beware that it is rather trippy and a sea of sound at times, some really big bottom end, sounds great on headphones and earbuds, I have not had time to audition on my monitors, studio is ripped apart currently.  I took the file into Cubase and automated a little flange and phaser action here and there, but thats it, compression and out she came.

File is here End of a Cha-pter - Made with Unify2

You can see her on our YT channel

Or on Instagram, we are @northwood_mediaworks

I still marvel at how easy it is to create something unique with Unify2 ... an awesome product.  If you dont have it, get it.

If you have a dog or a cat, give them a hug, they wont be around forever.

Take care.
