Abrupt sample end when loaded in Unify?

I'm finding when certain string libraries are loaded as an instrument in a Unify patch (in Logic 10.6.3 via Komplete Kontrol, if this is relevant), the release samples are abruptly cut off, resulting in a "sucking" sound.

For example, here is Cinematic Studio Strings playing a note first inside Unify, and then loaded as a normal instrument in Logic, then again in Unify:

This happens when loading the instrument into an INIT Unify patch (no embeds or any other layers, FX, etc).

Tina Guo Vol 1 Legato does it too, but interesting, not the Legato Classic patch. Seems like it may be something with Kontakt?

Any idea what is happening here? Is this user error?

Thank you!

I'm not able to check this, because I don't own those Kontakt libraries, but I'd recommend checking Unify's Transport trigger setting. If the DAW's transport is not running, Unify will usually start and stop its internal transport based on incoming MIDI. When you release the last key, the transport will stop, and Kontakt may react by abruptly cutting off all sounding notes. Many plug-ins do this, because when a DAW's transport stops, you usually want the sound to cut off. Some plug-ins such as Xfer Records' Serum even have a setting to control this.

Try changing the "Trigger" setting to anything other than the default "MIDI / Quick Stop", and see if this fixes the problem.

I changed the "Trigger" to MIDI/Restart and it worked! The library plays as expected now. Thank you so much! ❤️
