Hi, is there any way to configure the BlueArp to display C3 as C3 (Not as C5)? It’s little bit confusing – in my case input and output range in BlueArp need to be setup two octaves higher to work as expected.

I checked the BlueARP manual and the software itself, and unfortunately there seems to be no way to change the octave numbering.

There are no real standards for MIDI octave numbering, so it appears Oleg chose the range C0 through G10 to avoid the use of negative numbers.

I will pass this observation on to Oleg.

@getdunne

Thanks, I thought there might be some sort of config file that can be edited...

I kinda hear what you are saying, however, over 40 years ago I grew up with A4 = 440Hz.

That is something that I still remember until this day. If you google "A4=440" you will find a lot of references.

As I said, I'll pass this on to Oleg. It's his code, not mine, and he's letting us distribute it at no charge. I can't give him orders, only requests.

Calling Middle C "C4" is the Roland convention. Yamaha and Apple both use "C3", and so that's the default in Unify also (but you can change it to C4 on the Settings page).

Yamaha and Apple "C3" works great even with my Roland keyboard, and it's consistent with my DAW and other plugins.

There's no issue with device (e.g. keyboard) compatibility. This is simply a matter of how octaves are numbered for display in software. As I said, I'll pass your concerns on to Oleg, but I can't force him to do anything.

I know there is no issue with device compatibility, what I meant is that that the middle C lays exactly in the centre of my Roland keyboard, and both, the Unify and my DAW displays it as a C3. BlueARP is a very powerful plugin, its input/output note wrapping option allows me to force any instrument to play within selected notes range. I prefer BlueArp over similar commercial plugins, it's lightweight, loads very fast and has plenty of options.

I downloaded the latest update today (BlueARP v2.2.12) - many thanks to the developer for adding the option to display middle C as C3 - it works great!

The links were posted by BlueARP author Oleg Mikheev on KVR: https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=361311&start=1622 , as this is still a beta-test version.

The new v2.3.0 version of BlueARP is available from Oleg's site at http://graywolf2004.net/wp/?page_id=35

It will also be included with the installer for the forthcoming Unify v1.1 update.
