Bulk Rename all Tracks in your MIDI Stacks
Good day. Tired of all your MIDI tracks being named "Grand piano"?
I got Mr Nagler from GNMIDI to create an app for me that can bulk rename all my tracks to either 01 (MIDI FILE NAME), 02 (MIDI FILE NAME), 03 (MIDI FILE NAME), etc. or you can choose the first description, e.g. 01 Track, 02 Track, 03 Track or 01 Instrument, 02 Instrument, 03 Instrument.
Only tracks with actual notes will be renamed (had to make a second purchase for him to update this, as I didn't think of the composer tracks and blank tracks). Basically everything you see in the dropdown box in midiBOX will be numbered 01 Track, 02 Track, 03 Track or whatever you want instead of "Track".
I'm waiting for him to get back to me on whether he will sell this app as standalone of if you need to purchase GNMIDI. - will update when I get feedback.
Keeping track of what track I'm on and making notes of my favourites, etc. is so much easier now. I don't want to create a patch for every single MIDI file I like and also don't want to miss any by maybe turning the knob for the next track too much...
I just wanted to share this info for any of you that use MIDI a lot, as it really works great. See my post "Create MIDI Stacks in Minutes - Super Fast" if you want a really easy way to create MIDI stacks from all your MIDI files.
EDIT: mail firstname.lastname@example.org and request toolrenumbertracktitles. This app is awesome if you want your own naming convention for your tracks. Having the tracks numbered makes a massive difference for scrolling through your MIDI Stacks. He will also be able to name the files to your liking, if requested.
Hi Jason_ZA , Did you ever get any feedback on this? Would be interedting to know if he will add the feature to GNMidi?
Hi Callan. Mr Nagler creates personal MIDI apps on request but I told him that he can share this with others, so mail email@example.com and request toolrenumbertracktitles. I don't think that he adds personal apps to GNMIDI.
Hi Jason_ZA , Thanks for your reply. I will ask him for a copy.
Hi Jason_ZA , The cost of your commissioned tool would be 18 Euros which is rather costly , so I hope he will add it to GnMidi which I would then consider purchasing.
