The title says it all - will the new OB-Xd v2.9 be included in the upcoming Unify installer?

We're careful about updating the bundled versions of third-party plug-ins, because we have to be certain that old patches will still load correctly if the plug-in in Unify's own VST folder gets replaced, and furthermore that patches created with the newer version can still be loaded by users who haven't yet updated the Unify bundle.

What specific new features in OB-Xd are important to you?

You're free to install the stock OB-Xd plug-in anywhere on your system (NOT in Unify's own VST folder) and use it alongside the original. Because the names are different (ours is called "Obxd"; the stock plug-in is called "OB-Xd") they should not conflict.

@getdunne I am in no rush to see an updated version. There are no features in particular in the new version that are necessarily important to me. I was just wondering from your perspective if it seemed worth doing on your end to adapt the new version as a "Unify Version" again this time.

I try to keep the bundled open-source effects current, especially when the official project adds useful features. It's quite useful when people notify me about such updates.

OB-Xd is a bit of a special case. Jorge Reales provides it for sale through the DiscoDSP web site, even though it can also be downloaded for free, to allow people to pay him a token amount to fund his ongoing work. Hence I'm a little less eager to grab every improvement he makes and offer it for free with Unify. It was very generous of him to permit us to bundle it free with Unify in the first place, and we want to be kind in return.
