Hi, I found this new feature VERY useful. (“Disabled layers don't receive new MIDI notes, but their output audio continues to ring out”).

I would like to use a similar mechanism at the ComboBox level to eliminate potential hanging notes produced by BlueARP when it’s “On/Thru Mode” is changed while the note is played.

My idea is to use a 3rd party “MIDI Notch Filter” and some Unify’s “macro knobs multi-parameter magic tricks” to seamlessly switch between “arpped” and direct MIDI signal via the Macro Knob automation.

My question is: What’s the mechanism of “Enable/Disable Instrument Layers” in Unify;

and:

Is the “Filter Note On” the only message for my “MIDI Notch Filter” I should be looking at in my scenario?

MIDI-disabled layers do not receive note-on events, and will only receive note-off events corresponding to active notes (i.e., where a note-on event was sent to the layer, but a corresponding note-off has not yet been sent).

Is the “Filter Note On” the only message for my “MIDI Notch Filter” I should be looking at in my scenario?

Yes. Unify's "intelligent" handling of note-off events is not strictly necessary.
