I'm thinking of getting the Harmony Bloom sequencer.  It generates midi note sequences.  Can anyone tell me how to use this within Unify?

Thanks.

MIDI-generating plug-ins can be placed into any MIDI-effect slot in Unify. Every INST (instrument) layer can have a chain of MIDI effects before (to the left of) the instrument plug-in, OR, you can put them on a separate MIDI layer if you want to route their output to more than one INST layer. You'll find some examples in the patch recipes page of the manual. In particular, look under the heading Using MIDI Layers and later in the two Latched MIDI playback sections.

There's also a whole page in the manual to explain (with pictures) how MIDI is processed in Unify: https://pluginguru.net/unify/manual/doku.php?id=midi-details

I was curious about Harmony Bloom, so I bought it and prepared a couple of example patches to get you started--one showing it on a single INST layer and another showing it on a MIDI layer. Unzip the attached file and drag/drop the patch files one at a time into Unify to load them. If you wish, you can save each one into your User Library folder by clicking the Save button in Unify.

Hey Shane- thanks so much for this.  Guess I'll have to buy it!

@getdunne Hey Shane- any luck figuring out why Harmony Bloom is changing the text boxes in Unify?  Pretty annoying.  Fortunately, not a permanent change, but makes it does make it difficult to see what patch you're using, and any chord changes you've entered into the Comment box.  In the attached pic, the patch I'm using is "PLUCK - Solemn Duty key input kc"...but it comes out with tons of garbage characters.

I can reproduce this in the Unify stand-alone app in Windows. It only seems to happen if the Harmony Bloom GUI is opened. Basically, if you just save a patch with Harmony Bloom in it, then load that patch in Unify after a fresh start, it loads and plays fine. Once you open the Harmony Bloom GUI, Unify's fonts get messed up, but not for all patches. It's very strange.

I'll follow this up with developer Mario Nieto, to whom I recently provided an NFR license for Unify.

Could you please zip and attach the .unify file for your "PLUCK - Solemn Duty key input kc" patch?

This patch is set to play the HB using the chords played.  Only affects the first layer, the others simply respond to keyboard input.
