Hey,
It seems like in the beginning I remember it being said that Unify was originally an IOS app. Any thoughts to porting it back in a future version. I’m considering getting one of the new 13” iPad Pros with the M4 chip. It would make it easier to use Unify than with my laptop. I always have issues with finding something to put my laptop on when playing somewhere. I’ve considered buying a configureable keyboard stand from a Brazilian stand company called Titanium, they have configurations I’ve never seen in the US market, but with an iPad I could just attach it to my mic stand. I think it would even be worth paying for another version for me. Any thoughts?! A new Mac laptop price makes it so that it is going to be several years before I can save up enough to get another. Unify itself was never an iPad app. When I first started working with John I suggested doing some kind of iPad synth/sampler app, and we did some prototyping (which became today's Guru Sampler and several of Unify's built-in effects), but he realized that his entire audience and experience is on the desktop, and hence iPad didn't make sense.
The business case for music apps on iOS is poor. Prices are expected to be 10% to 40% of comparable desktop software, so to be viable, the iPad customer base must be much larger than the desktop user base, and that won't happen without a large advertising budget. Also, I struggle just to keep up supporting Unify on Windows and MacOS; add iOS and I'd need help we simply can't afford.
Now, if Apple were ever to allow iPads to run MacOS, that would be a different matter...

@getdunne Yeah I’ve always wondered why they’re so resistant to the possibility that the future of mobile computing iPad could bring, honestly it would blow everyone else out of the water. Thanks!
