Hey,

The issues I'm having is that no latches are working, either for Unify or the plugin I'm using which for the moment is Omnisphere. It doesn't matter

if I'm using stack or live mode, or using the native latches in Unify. A lot of these multi's I use Live and they count on the use of latches for me to be able to use them.  Also I've been recreating my Omnisphere Multi's in Unify by creating a layer for each part. When I select any of these patches using Omnisphere and I exit Unify it always crashes.

Unify's latch functions are described in the manual at https://pluginguru.net/unify/manual/doku.php?id=layer-stack-view&s []=latch. What you may be missing is this:

When either latch mode is selected, a ninth rectangular button will appear to the left of the MIDI note-offset box, which you can click to toggle latching on/off.

If you don't click that little "L" button on the left, latching will remain disabled.

You also reported a completely separate issue, which is (if I understand correctly) that Unify crashes if you quit the program after having loaded a patch containing multiple Omnisphere instances. I need a bit more information to try to diagnose this:

  • Are you running on a Mac or Windows machine?
  • Does this happen in the Unify stand-alone, or when used in a DAW? If in a DAW, are you using the VST, VST3, or AU version of Unify?
  • Are you using the VST, VST3, or AU version of Omnisphere?
  • Does this happen with every patch you create using Omnisphere, or only the ones where multiple Omnisphere layers are used? What seems to be the common factor among the patches which lead to crashing?

I need to be able to recreate the crashing in order to diagnose the cause. These details will help.

@getdunne hey hadn't seen the reply yet, but set down to mess with latches again, still wasn't working but, I did notice the L this time, but it didn't start working until I selected the right trigger mode. It's evidently always been set on MIDI/ Quick Stop, so now it's working. I'm an idiot.

@getdunne It was on my Mac Machine, my windows version doesn't do it. I was using the VST version of Omnisphere inside the standalone version of Unify. I have only created a few but stopped when I couldn't get the Latch to work. I just now selected the patches several times and then closed Unify and it isn't crashing. I'm going to consider this issue closed. But I do have an issue with the 5 free patches that John put out for people that had the two Synth Motion Libraries, it's show layers that contain Unify that are red so I guess they aren't able to load for some reason.

I don't think I explained what I was doing with Omnisphere. I create a layer for each part in a Multi. Then for the first layer I mute all but Part one, then for second layer, all but part two and so on.....

The last multi I tried creating maxed out the CPU, so I started creating that multi from scratch using Unify's own instruments but then I hit a road block with the layers using the Blue arp that when I tried playing the layers together the bass part wouldn't play right at all.  I'm going to try using Midibox instead which is what I should have done to begin with. When I got to my MacBook Pro this morning it showed that unify had crashed again. Sometimes it would show up later after I had already left the computer. I had copied the crash code to send you but it wouldn't paste it for some reason. Also for the Trigger there needs to be a MIDI/Restart-Stop added. That way it will stop the tracking after lifting the key. My OCD can't stand to leave it counting like that. 😉 So I finally just got the bass to play the correct pattern but when I hit all the keys together it will sometimes plays, sometimes won't, sometimes it comes in late but is on the beat. Here's a copy of the BPM Split. See if it hesitates with you. Still plan on switching to midibox to see if it does the same thing. I can't imagine your work load dealing with us.

Thanks,

KWCIII

When embedded Unify instances show up red, it's because the patch was built using the VST Unify plug-in. Just register that into Unify's Known Plugins list, and those patches will load.

Using Unify itself as a VST was the only option prior to the release of Unify v1.1.x, in which Unify is automatically registered as a "built-in" plug-in. Patches/layers built with the VST version will still need the VST plug-in. (Converting them to use the new built-in one requires saving out the state of each embedded Unify VST as a patch, swapping in the built-in Unify, re-loading that patch into it, and ultimately re-saving the entire composite patch.)

I will ask John to look at what you're trying to do with Omnisphere. He may have useful suggestions.

@getdunne 10-4 I gotcha, I was seeing Unify listed could have sworn it said VST. Added it, now it's working.

Hello,

Was messing with the patch BPM DRUM - Rhythm Freak and noticed that while I'm playing the RX2 files, that the macro knobs aren't controlling in real time. Even when I go to the parameter links, and slide the knob back and forth nothing changes until I let the key up and press again. This is on my PC.
