Im not sure if this is possible or not, but i noticed something that could be catastrophic in a live performance setting. So when using multiple instances of unify within the standalone, i had a midi note get stuck within one of the instances within an instance. When hitting the midi panic it would just make a pop sound and do nothing, so i had to trace back to which instance was the culprit which was a unify within a unify within a unify a hit the midi panic button within that specific instance of unify. Would it be possible to have a midi panic that would effect all instances of unify in use? Like maybe if you hold alt/option and click the midi panic or something, or is it already like that but im just ignorant of it?

I tried making the MIDI panic function propagate through to embedded Unify instances, but I couldn't get it to work. This is still on the to-do list.

I agree this could be a big problem in a live setting. I'll try to find a solution quickly, but I can't promise.

I have actually noticed a vaguely similar issue with a few VSTs which don't seem to receive or respond to note-off properly inside Unify. The last time I recall seeing this was with the Blamsoft VK-1 VST, and the MIDI panic button unfortunately didn't work..

Having just tried again I can't readily reproduce the issue, but I think it might have had something to do with stopping a MIDIbox audition using Unify's main transport controls. Bit of a corner case.

There isn't a well-defined way to implement MIDI Panic. If all plug-ins were well-behaved, it would be enough to send a MIDI "all sound off" command on every channel, but many plug-ins don't respond to that. Most DAWs blast out a storm of MIDI, e.g. 128 note-off commands for each of 16 channels. A sledgehammer, but it works. I have tried for a more subtle approach, but perhaps we need more.

Please keep us posted about specific plug-ins you notice which don't respond well.
