Good day. I just wanted to see if there is a way to link the instances of Orb Producer Suite 2 (Chord, Melody, Bass and Arp modules).

When I change the chords in the Chord instance, it does not update the Melody, Bass and Arp instances.

Really like the ability to edit MIDI in Unify - just really wish I could get this to work.

@jason_za

I'm not familiar with Orb Producer Suite 2. Does it do linking in DAWs?

@jason_za and @getdunne

I have just tried it in Unify and it is working fine here. Are you using the latest version 2.0.1?

Shane, there is a DAW Sync button on each of the plugins.

In the example attached I am using 4 instances of OBXD, each being controlled by one of the 4 Orb plugins.

If I change a chord in the chord plugin that change is reflected in the other plugins.

Hi @getdunne. Thanks for the prompt response. I am truly amazed at your dedication to Unify - it is very inspiring. Orb Producer Suite 2 is like Captain Chords but seemed better in my opinion, hence my purchase.

@J Hall I am using the new beta version (BETA 1.2.4/61) of Unify, as I purchased the Zampler Bundle library and it works great for loading it (I like the SFZ format, as Kontakt is way overpriced for the average user that only wants to sample instruments, without requiring all the additional editing, etc. and the free edition is too limited in terms of available libraries). I included a screenshot of the message I get when loading Unify. I am running Unify in standalone mode.

@Jason_ZA

I meant are you using the latest version of Orb Producer Suite which is 2.0.1.

You usually get that error message if you don't load Orb Chords first. It must be the first Orb plugin loaded before loading the others (Bass, Melody, Arpeggios) as it acts as the master for all of the other Orb plugins.

Hi @J Hall.

Yes, I am using the latest version of Orb Producer Suite (2.01) and do have the Chords instance loaded first.

@Jason_ZA I'm wondering whether you are loading this from a Unify preset that you have saved?

@getdunne what order does Unify load plugins from a preset? Is it by layer starting at the top? Maybe if it is loading from a unify preset then Orb Chords is not being loaded before the other modules?

Having said that I have an Orb Template Unify patch that seems to load and work perfectly every time. I have attached it for you to try. It has DAW Sync turned on and the internal synth disabled for all of the Orb plugins. I'm just using some basic Guru Sampler sounds in the template.

Thanks a lot, @ J Hall. Your template loads and I'm not getting the error message anymore but when I change the chords in the Chords instance, it is still not updating the other instances. Very odd. I'm going to try reinstalling Orb Producer.

No problem @Jason_ZA hope you get it sorted. Just a thought; when did you last rescan your plugins in Unify? I'm often adding new plugins but then forget to re-scan in Unify (or drag/drop onto the plugin screen if you only want to do specific ones).

I have actually been experimenting using the Orb Producer Suite with some of the standard library patches, like some of the BPM Split patches which are proving a bit challenging.

You kind of need a way to set up separate MIDI layers for the Orb modules which then feed into the existing MIDI layers of the patch (as if Orb was a keyboard playing the parts). I have used ComboBox with MIDI filters to filter the Chords/Bass etc by MIDI channel to direct the various parts to the required instrument patches. See example attached below where I have tried to "Orbify" the standard library patch And So It Begins!  This is still work in progress and I think I will start a new thread on another sub-forum. Hopefully there is a simpler solution than this that I am missing.
