I got a set of free Serum patches here:

https://www.soundfactorystore.com/free

This happens with all of them, but I was using the Hexagon library for testing.

If I run the stand alone Unify, and on the init patch, load Serum by clicking the Plug-in Operations Menu button, select Swap All Instruments and choose Xfer/Serum, it loads as it should. And the first couple of times I try to change the patch in Serum, it works ok. However, after that, I select a patch and nothing happens. But if I close Serum, and re-open it, the patch I just chose and did not see is loaded.

I tried the patches directly with Serum in my DAW, and I can load all of them with no issues.

If I try to load Unify in my DAW, load Serum as above, and load these patches, I have problems as bad as the whole DAW locking up.

I have seen this problem with native Serum patches as well, but it is harder to reproduce.

I am unable to reproduce this. Please provide more detail: Mac or PC? Which format of Serum (VST, VST3, AU)? Which DAW?

What version of Serum are you running? The Sound Factory site specifies it must be at least 1.286, which I tested with today. Note the very latest version is 1.30b6 (August 5 2020), which I also tested with.

Has anyone else run into this issue?

PC, Serum_X64, VST Serum version 1.304

I will upgrade Serum and see if that helps.

@getdunne

I was still having the problems with Serum 1.304 as described above, so I upgraded to 1.306, and the problem disappeared.
