I'm coming back with the topic of "old sounds" from the beginning of Unify, those that have been updated to our version sound tragic to me. Generally almost all BPM SPLIT from Unify Standard Library which additionally come with new graphic icons: Crovd Control, Autobahn Techno, Baxin Ferlin, From Berlin with Love, Hole Bopp, Living the Dream, Minor Chords DeepFream, Tel Aviv Progressive, Thrill of the Dance ,Xpandable. The strange thing is that these sounds don't work well on two independent computers. They sound wrong even though the control keyboard is not connected. Think about this problem.

Regards

Les.

Thank you for the report.

I have passed this on to John, and we will discuss. He may need to ask you more questions to understand the problem fully.

There is no solution to this problem. The patches do not do this for me or Taylor or anybody else that I know of.

Hi

Thank you for your time, it's a pity that my problem could not be solved. He'll live with it somehow. I'll have a few patches less.

It's not so much that your problem "cannot be solved". The issue is, we don't understand what you mean. Perhaps you can explain in more detail?

"old sounds" from the beginning of Unify, those that have been updated to our version sound tragic to me.

"Tragic"? In what way?

these sounds don't work well on two independent computers. They sound wrong even though the control keyboard is not connected.

Please elaborate. What do you mean by "on two independent computers"? What do you mean by "sound wrong"?

What is the effect of connecting (or not connecting) a keyboard? This is not something I'm familiar with.

Hi Shane

I'm already translating. I have a PC to which the M-Audio Hammer88 control keyboard is connected, and another computer without a control keyboard. Daw Cubase 12, Widows 10 system, Steinberg's UR 44 interface. I am attaching the audio files of BPM SPLIT Living the Dream Unify ver 1.0.5 and some audio files from the Unify Standard Library ver 1.9.1

Perhaps these examples will shed some light on the problem. They work the same on both computers. I don't know what else I can suggest.

Thank you for the sound files, and the additional explanation. I realize that English is not your first language, and I appreciate your efforts with translation etc.

The Unify Standard Library patches were updated for Unify v1.9.x, so you might still be using older patch files. In the Unify 1.9 update package, there was a file called Unify 1.9 Content Update.guru. If you didn't install that, you should; it will replace the older patch files.

Since you have used Unify for a long time, you may have some VERY old files. It would probably be better to remove your entire Unify Standard Library folder and replace it by downloading and installing this file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ezavqrkets15xhf/Unify%20Factory%20Content.guru?dl=0

(Before deleting your Unify Standard Library folder, I would suggest you compress it to a .zip file, and keep that, so you can restore any individual files you might need.)

I'm sorry but I forgot to write about my English, it's not me, it's a translator. I will follow your advice and let you know the results.

I have a problem with removing the Unify standard Library, I compressed the library, cut it out of the directory and it is still there but it is silent. How to remove it permanently?

After adding, removing, or modifying any patch files in Unify's main content folder, you need to click the "lightning bolt" icon at the top right, to cause Unify to rebuild its patch database and update the patch list.

However, you should probably NOT remove the Unify Standard Library entirely (without replacing it), because it contains many files that are used by patches in other libraries. That's why it's called the "standard library"--it's expected to always be present.

I ran lightning, the directories were gone, then I installed Unify Factory Content. guru and it didn't change anything. Bad patches still sounded bad.

Thanks for the help.

Did you use the Unify Factory Content.guru file that came with Unify 1.9? If you used an earlier one, it's possible you just re-installed the old patches.

I installed Unify Factory Copntent.guru from the address you sent me earlier. ( https://www.dropbox.com/s/ezavqrkets15xhf/Unify%20Factory%20Content.guru?dl=0).

The strange thing is that only a few of these files sound bad. Only the left side of the patch sounds wrong.

That should be correct.

The strange thing is that only a few of these files sound bad. Only the left side of the patch sounds wrong.

I think you mean only the lower (left) side of the key-split, which is the sequenced part. All these patches use BlueARP for the sequencing. I suspect you are not using the correct version of BlueARP. The installer for Unify v1.7.2 should have automatically updated the BlueARP VST in Unify's own VST folder to v2.3.8. Perhaps you changed it?

Look for the entry for BlueARP in Unify's Known Plug-Ins list. If there is more than one, this is a problem; you should have exactly one entry for BlueARP. If you have only one, right-click it and choose "reveal in Explorer". The location (on Windows) should be C:\Applications\PlugInGuru\Unify\VST. If it's anywhere else, this is your problem.

Thank you Shane you are great as always.

Once again, thank you very much for your help.

Hi Shane

I recently installed the Spitfire LABS update and the same sounds appeared twice. How to eliminate duplicates?

Regards

Les.

The first step is to click the lightning-bolt icon to update the patch database. If that does not eliminate the duplicates, then you may actually have duplicate copies of the patches in some folder other than where they belong. This can happen if a .guru file was made improperly.

To track this down, right-click both of any pair of duplicate patches, and choose "reveal in Explorer" ("reveal in Finder" on Mac), to see where the actual patch file is. If there are in fact two separate files, you must figure out which one does not belong.

Patches (.unify files) for the unified Spitfire LABS should only exist in Libraries/Unified - Spitfire LABS/Patches under the main Unify data folder. If you find such files anywhere else, then those are duplicates, and you need to delete them manually. They will probably be in their own Patches folder, beside which you may find duplicate Media and MIDI Files folders, which should also be deleted manually.

After you have manually deleted all the duplicate files, click the lightning-bolt icon one more time, and the patch list should be free of duplicates.

I manually deleted the entire folder, pressed lightning, reinstalled Spitfire LABS Unified, pressed lightning and all is well.

Thanks.

Les.

It's not available as a full beta yet. Sometimes I send experimental changes only to John.
