Kirnu Cream and Reason Rack (yay!) are recognized as Midi FX, but these are not:

Monoplug

Nora

Sundog Scale Studio

Scaler 2

Obelisk

Are these known issues? Thanks!

Scaler 2 and Obelisk are working fine here. Are you using the VST version of these?

Scaler 2 works fine (Win10), try to add your plugins to MIDI FX plugins subset

Forgive me everyone, I had a "duh" moment.

Because SOME Midi FX are pre-populated by the subset, I forgot that they don't pre-populate but that I have to add them myself. Thanks everyone!

There is also another issue. Only the Audio-Units plug-in format (Mac only) even provides a way to tag plug-ins as MIDI effects. As a result, plug-in vendors often try to "help" users by having their MIDI-effect plug-ins identify themselves as instrument plug-ins, even though they make no sound. This is one of the reasons why Unify's plug-in subsets mechanism exists, so you can, at least manually, untangle this mess.
