So Reveal Sound Spire VST3 has been released recently, on the latest version of that (also on Unify 1.9.1), but when playing it within Unify, no sound!
It works fine in Cubase Pro 12, the VST2 version of it is also fine in Unify along with other VST3 plugins like Diva, Hive etc.
Unsure why that is, because it's working fine in Cubase, I suspect the issue is Unify related, can anyone else confirm if you are having the same issue?
On Windows 10 (latest build).
I have removed the VST3 from the list, restarted Unify, rescanned, same issue. It loads fine, along with the presets, just no sound. I can see the MIDI indicator light come on when playing the MIDI keyboard, so it's receiving data.
Any ideas on what the problem is?
thanks
Unify's VST3 compatibility, which is inherited from that of the JUCE framework, can be spotty. I can confirm that the Spire 1.5.13-x64 (build 5270) VST3 plug-in does not produce sound in Unify, nor does it work in the JUCE AudioPluginHost demo app. You may wish to report this to Reveal-Sound, and/or to the JUCE development team.
We advise that you use the VST version of all plug-ins, whenever available. We do so because:
- Because of occasional compatibility problems like this, which don't seem to arise with the more well-established VST format.
- The VST3 format provides no advantage whatsoever over VST in Unify, unlike in Cubase, which has been specifically coded to use VST3-specific functionality.
Just an update, latest Spire release (1.5.16) has resolved the issue, Spire VST 3 works fine now within Unify.

Great news. Thank you for letting us know!
