Stand alone app shuts down while loading library
Hi, since you released the LABS library, Unify will often crash or simply disappear while loading a patch from Labs.
It happens almost every second time. But when it doesn't crash, it's superb!
I just installed the new "Spitfire LABS Unified Final" library. Same problem.
Hello @jedag and @Shane, since last week I was hesitant to bring up the same problem. I am under W10 (2004 /19041.867) and Unifiy 1.3.2. Not seeing any member pointing out this problem, I thought the problem was with my machine. So, today, after several checks on my PC (removing the LABS plugins (vst2 and vst3) and the new installation of the "Spitfire LABS Unified Final" patches, nothing has changed. Unifiy comes out on its own after several patch changes (between 4 or 6; it's random) I haven't noticed any problems with the other libraries.
Added: I just thought that the only thing I changed was the location of the SpitFire presets on an internal SSD drive (G: \ Spitfire); modified using Spitfire Audio.
PS: thank you to the members who contributed to this library
@sonyroc I'm also on Win 10 version 20H2 build 19042.867 using Unify 1.3.2
It's also occurring on a very irregular basis.
All other libraries work fine.
BTW, I had to "repair" each LABS plugin the 1st time for them to work in Unify.
@jedag Had the same problem this morning, but since I have updated Multiple Patchs it seems to have resolved the problem
I thought I was changing patterns too quickly but all seems well now, took 50 minutes to do .
Quite a few people (including John) have experienced crashes with the LABS plug-in. Based on the crash reports I have seen, it appears to be a bug in the LABS plug-in itself. I will be reporting it to Spitfire Audio.
@Shane, I would add one observation: with a single patch, when I click on the LABS plugin in the INST layer, it opens after 4 seconds; with the DiscoverStation plugin, it opens after 7 seconds. When, I use Unify in my DAW (Live 10 Std), both plugins open in 1 second. I also confirm that the LABS plugin is also crashing in my DAW.
Load time for plug-ins can vary greatly. As long as at least one instance of the plug-in remains in memory (it might not even be visible, due to some under-the-hood trickery by the DAW), adding another instance will be very quick.
Thank you @Shane for these explanations. Under my environment, I have funny behaviors with this library. Since then, your answer, I have not been slow to open the Spitfire plugins (BBCSO DS, LABS and Intimate Strings). Truly astonishing and bizarre at the same time.
