For info:

Unify ran fine on 1.10.2 until I installed the 1.11.1 beta with a view to buying the Vocalesque library. It now runs laggy both in the GUI and the sounding of notes in standalone and in my DAW, Studio One Pro 4. I've rolled back to 1.10.2 and all is as it was.

Thank you for the report. This is the first report of its kind. What are your computer specs? You mentioned "Windows 7" in the title of your post, but not in the post itself--are you running Windows 7? That might be important.

Yes Win 7. I've had no problems so far with UNIFY but 1.11.1 has caused lagging. It's not horrendous but bad enough to make using it problematic. Standalone and "in DAW" give similar poor results. I run commercial 3D animation software on this PC with no issues.  All drives are SSD. It does appear strange that a change to FlexEQ seems to have initiated the lag.

@padster13

We are now getting reports that the latest Unify beta does not run well (or at all) on older MacOS versions also. I suspect the JUCE team have allowed compatibility with older OSs to fall by the wayside.

It's nowhere near that simple. Unify v1.11.x is built on JUCE 7; all prior versions were built on JUCE 6 (about 2 years older). The code is shot through with changes required to conform to the newer JUCE version, and very substantial changes to work correctly with new threading systems on MacOS (coming soon to Windows 11, no doubt) and Apple Silicon. The FlexEQ bug fix is just something that got fixed along the way.

@getdunne Well I can expect issues with Win7 now given its age! Nothing stays the same for ever😊
