Hello fellow members, I am having a problem updating Unify2. When I am installing the updated software. During the installation, I keep getting an error message saying Access Denied. I have never had this problem before when updating Unify2. I am logged in as the Administrator. I have installed other software but never had this problem before... I need your help in solving this problem. All help is welcome!

Best

Brian

@Wavesequencer please note--possible installer issue.

@unifyman2024 are you installing on a PC or a Mac?

This sounds like a system specific issue - we've not had anybody else reach out to us with v2.04.0 installation issues as far as I know - and the installer is code signed, so should not be flagged as suspicious.

Does the 'Access Denied' message come up in the installer or a general windows alert - and does it reference a specific file location?

It's possible there is something that changed with the permissions in the program install directory (C:\Program Files\PlugInGuru\Unify2).

Since you are using Windows I suggest to try using the uninstaller via the 'add or remove programs'/installed apps windows utility - this will not delete your libraries or your licenses/Unify2 settings. Then try installation again.

Another thing to check is if antivirus software is blocking installation.

I'm recommending to use the un-installer first (assuming you have a prior version installed) - this is not normally necessary, but I'm suggesting it due to the file access issue you mentioned.

After running the un-installer, the c:/program files/pluginguru folder should no longer contain unify2/

Once you confirmed that folder is removed, you can run the installer again.
