Can we please get Midi learn Note/CC  for standalone transport 😉

Cheers.

I don't understand exactly what you're asking for. Please explain.

@getdunne Sorry 😉

Assign a midi cc/note to the play / rewind buttons in unify standalone.

this would be very useful, especially for MIDI/Manual stop mode.

Hi, just chiming in... the ability to assign midi CC for aspects of transport control is a cool idea ...but possibly requires more fiddling in the field to get it to respond well??

as in ...cc'X' is for transport ...cc'X' value range 1-10 = stop, 11-20 = start, 21-30 = rewind, 31-40 = back to beginning, 41-50 = loop on, 51-60 = loop off ...etc ...with the transport controls assignable to whatever defined controller-value-range you want ...(or not ...Unify can define this if that gets it Dunne ...haha).

If instead, we could use a 'transport layer' ...MIDI channel assignable ...we could use MIDI note values for each desired transport (or other) control we'd want to access. Whether it's note-on values only, or note-on-and-note-off ...to achieve the necessary triggering messaging for transport and transport-related functions ...I don't which approach makes more sense, but I know some folks who do ...you can reach them at pluginguru!

Along the same line of thinking (and sorry if this is the bajillionth request) ...could we assign a midi note, or assignable momentary switch MIDI control # for tap temp ...for standalone Unify operation ...please

Also along the same line of thinking (and maybe this is already possible...sorry if it is) ...could we assign 'sequence-select' values to a range of keys on the 'transport layer'? In theory, I'm trying to change which sequence MIDIbox is playing via note numbers ...so that I don't have to take hands off of keys (to use an assigned knob or slider to change the sequence with one of these control types).

Additionally, if the sequence-select-to-MIDI note# thing is possible, could we have the ability assign a 'trigger-timing-range' such that I could trigger 'the next sequence' by its MIDI note# ...and have it 'wait to play on the next beat 1' (within whatever time signature is being used). This way, we'd have seamless, on-time transitions from sequence-to-sequence. The fact that we'd already have a 'stop' key assigned, this gives an overall master-stop for the transport, so it's king and everything stops when it stops. However, if we used the same MIDI note 'X' to start a sequence...then also played the same note to stop it (mid-sequence for example), this makes sense (if doable). This combination of features enables starting stopping individual sequences (by note#), but other sequences could in theory continue (gadzooks!) ...or ...we could stop all sequences (by 'stop' note).

A further idea would be to be able to assign the 'sequence select notes' ...either by an adjacent-note range (C3~F3 on MIDI ch 'X' as an example), or... by individual notes, each on MIDI ch 'X' (whichever approach makes the most sense) such that the note or note-range is MIDI ch (probably) assignable to a specific instrument layer (or layers), and the MIDIbox(es) on those layers.

The fact that we'd be playing MIDI note #'s ...makes it likely that MIDI velocity info would also be available ...to possibly adjust/offset the center-velocity-value a sequence would be associated with ...and so a sequence could be made to play 'a little louder' (with dynamics still possible 'around' the starting MIDI velocity) ...or a little softer ...I hope this makes sense. I'm thinking about the velocity tools in MIDIbox and going ...hmmm.

And if velocity is on the table ...switching from a 'soft' version to a 'hard' version and back, by assignable velocity range ...of a set of sequences assigned to a particular MIDI note # ...cool!

If all of this sounds like I want 14 1/2 assignable, even smarter 'latches' ...that can run at the same time ...independently ...exactly!

Hope you get a nice Eastern spring Shane. Cheers.
