Reaper has very clever script - "add control knob for last touched FX control". It is actually very fast way to add large amount of parameters to a track panel. This way, coupled with fuzzy search in parameters list (which are huge) - could be nice... And same fuzzy search popup in layer presets menu.
Look at Blender what they did about search in theirs bloated menus.
Good ideas here. Could you elaborate on two things:
- What exactly does "fuzzy search" mean?
- What do you like inΒ Blender? I'm not familiar with it, and don't have time to install it and study it.
There's a little 5 minute explanation video about Blender's fuzzy search: https://www.blendernation.com/2020/09/11/blender-2-91-gets-new-search-with-fuzzy-matching/
Cubase 12 Pro, Win 10 Pro (x64), several different midi controllers
Thanks for the references. It seems like you're seeking two things, the second of which is a refinement of the first:
- Whenever dealing with large lists, the option to type what you want, and see a smaller list of potential matches.
- Use of Damerau-Levenshtein distance as the metric for ranking potential matches.
Am I missing anything?
