How about...

Where the SOLO and MUTE buttons are on each layer, could we have another button for MODWHEEL SOLO.

Useful for, say, distorted Guitar solo's when playing live.  You wouldn't want those expressions to affect other layers.

left-clicking on the MODWHEEL SOLO button will toggle on/off for that layer.

If any of the MODWHEEL SOLO's are toggled active, a colour warning appears so we know the other layers are filtering out modwheel CC's

hopefully I'm making sense!

regards,

Glen.

@glenjdiamond

This is a very interesting suggestion, thank you.

I would generalize this approach by providing ways to link macro-knobs (which can be controlled externally via MIDI or automation) to instances of MIDI Filter on each layer. This is not currently possible, because MIDI Filter doesn't expose any automatable parameters, but can certainly be added in a future update.

Hi.  Thinking about it.  It would be both of the wheels on a keyboard controller.  Pitch and Mod.

In a midi program I wrote years ago it had the following filters (set by buttons), although I didn't like the principle of "filter", it was either allowed or not (button illuminated or not):

MOD for modulation
SUS for sustain
CC for other control messages (not modulation or sustain)
PB for pitchbend
AFT for channel aftertouch
PAT for poly aftertouch
PC for program changes
