Launch Control XL - Buttons Not Lighting Up for Solo, Mute and MIDI Track Enable/Disable

Good day. I'm really liking the new updates to Unify 1.4 - it's always a treat to try out the new features. I can get my tracks to mute/solo and enable/disable tracks using a MIDI Controller File but the LED's do not come on when doing so. I saw John using his Korg Nano Control in the last video he posted and the LED's worked for it. I saw in some posts online that the same midi cc needs to be sent to the Launch Control to toggle the LED's. Does the Korg Nano control work differently? Is there a way to send the same midi cc to my controller when pressing a button? Anyone else using a Launch Control XL in Unify that managed to find a solution?

@jason_za

To get theĀ nanoKontrol button LEDs to toggle on/off as the buttons are pressed requires making a change from its factory configuration; see this section of the relevant page in the Unify online manual (click link).

We are feeling our way towards customized MIDI controller support very gradually. Many DAWs today implement an elaborate system of controller-customization "plug-ins"; we are nowhere near that yet.

One problem we face is that I can't possibly buy one of every kind of controller on the market. (Even if cost were no object, I couldn't get all the ones which are no longer available at any price.) The best I can do is to allow users to set up their own configuration files, and hopefully share then. The best place to discuss this is in the Live Performance with Unify section of the Forum.

Thanks a lot, @getdunne. Having this functionality available is a great addition and I can live without the buttons lighting up until someone finds a solution and shares it. It is still easy to see what is in solo, mute and on or off in Unify.

I just managed to find a Nanocontrol 2 on ebay...I really need a MIDI controller with multiple sliders and having the ability to switch on/off tracks is a real bonus. Not sure how much longer the Nanocontrol is going to be around as, it seems, no one is carrying it right now...possibly being discontinued?
