Its currently xml only. I was trying to rebuild a patch from Bitwig in Unify. In Bitwig, i was saving the current state as FXP / VSTPRESET (VST3) on each plugin and tried to load it in Unify, which is currently not possible. I know that most plugins have a preset save function internally, but some plugins don't.

Unify does not handle VSTPRESET files for VST3, but it will load FXP/FXB files to VST2 plug-ins.

Ok, i thought its currently not possible. Was checking this with the Reason Rack VST3 plugin and only found XML load and save. Is this possible to add this for vst3presets, too?

I'll look into what's involved.

Which VST3 plug-ins are you using, that don't have their own preset save/load ability? I thought only ancient VST2 plug-ins were like that.

@getdunne Currently Reason Rack plugin is one of these VST3 plugins without vst3preset saving.

Look at the top left corner in Reason Rack Plugin. Click the dot where it says "Browser".

I know this, its just the browser. Not possible to save the whole rack as vst preset there 🙂

I see. Consider saving a Unify preset. Then you can capture the whole rack plus whatever you've added in Unify.

If you just want to make presets for Reason, is there any point running it in Unify?

I was porting on of my complex instrument patches from bitwig(instrument layer) to unify, so i can use it in every DAW. A quick way to port the patches of each instrument and effect inside the layer was to simply save them as fxp and load them in unify. For Reason part i was need to change the patch so everything is inside a combinator. so i can save it and load it in Unify. Loading vstpresets directly would simplify the process. Load / save of vst3 presets is not something critical for me, i just save some time.

@getdunne Might want to document the functionality of  "Load VST preset" (.fxb / .fxp file based) in the manual. I was looking for whether that was possible, and found this thread. But couldn't find corresponding information in the manual as to how to do it. Figured it out by playing in the Unify GUI. Attached screenshot as artefact for those coming after me looking for the same. Will cross-post this in the Manual Improvement channel.
