Nice to have this feature - option to select track in midi file via velocity - especially for oneshots. To select different break by supplying different velocities.
Interesting idea, but I just tested it here, and it's extremely difficult to control when using live MIDI input, especially if there are more than a couple of tracks. Not a problem when playing back MIDI from a DAW, but in a DAW you can already use a MIDI CC or automation to select tracks more precisely anyway.
@getdunne For 10 midi breaks it could work..on 127 tracks it is a mess...
- maybe a "random" and "play next" option for selecting layers on a next play?
Then we could have a sets of drum breaks or oneshot samples in one track. And they will alternate on every push of a button.
Also i found a way to manageΒ oneshots from midi box. I put BluArp after and made a long note, so now oneshot plays completely certain bars, stops, and note off sent! π so on next press it plays again from the beggining.
For 10 midi breaks it could work...
If you can play accurately enough to reliably place each note's velocity within a 12-unit range (one tenth of 127 is 12.7), then I bow to your stellar technique. I couldn't even manage it with 6 tracks.
