Dear Shane

In the pro version of Unify do you plan to add polyphonic aftertouch to Guru sampler ?

With all the libraries available at pluginguru there is a lot of sound potential.

Since I started using PAFT with Omnisphère, I can no longer go back. It's no longer the same instrument .

@dominique

I haven't been planning to add poly aftertouch (Guru Sampler doesn't even support mono aftertouch yet), but it's a good idea, so I've added it to the to-do list. I have two questions:

  1. Which poly aftertouch MIDI controller(s) do you use now, and are there others you plan to buy soon?
  2. What parameters would you want to control with poly aftertouch?

Thank you Shane for your reply

I currently use Osmose from Expressive E. It integrates PAFT and MPE.
But among the recent new synths there are some models which are equipped with the PAFT keyboard such as the Hydrasynth, the new Yamaha M8 assembly, the UB-XA from Behringer, the super gemini from UDO.I have the impression that PAFT is becoming more and more of a trend in new keyboards to come.
If Yamaha releases a new control keyboard like the one on the new Yamaha Montage M8 I might be tempted. it is a brand new technology based on optical sensors. It seems to be remarkably smooth and  flexible according to the first users .
For the moment what I control the most in Omnisphère or GX-80 from Cherry Audio with the PAFT is all the volume parameters (amplitude, pan), all the filter parameters (cutoff, res and so one) and all the pitch parameters . But it can be even more subtle like the speed or the depth of LFO or some effect parameters . I haven't explored everything yet but on Omnisphère or also Plasmonic, Pigments you can affect almost everything. And each note becomes independent. It really gives a magical result .
that's why I was thinking about Gurusampler and all the libraries I have in my collection 😍

I'll see what I can do. I don't presently have a PAT/MPE keyboard. I had a Roli Seaboard for a while, but found it completely unplayable. I'm very interested in the Hydrasynth and some of the new offerings from Korg and Yamaha (and of course the Osmose), but can't afford any of them.

the most affordable seems to be the new Behringer UB-XA (around 1100 $ ). An Oberheim emulation with 16 note polyphony, 5 octaves PAFT. As it is brand new, we do not yet know what the quality of the keyboard is.
