Great sequencer.Β would be cool to have multiple patterns to switch thru. chain mode would be the icing πΒ
Nice idea. You can kind of work around this by hosting Unify (VST3) in combobox on a MIDI layer.. then you create multiple step sequencers and make sure MIDI out is enabled on each MIDI layer in the hosted instance. Use a macro control with cc control to select which midi layer in the combo-box hosted instance is enabled.. thus..step sequence switching.

I don't follow the steps needed to do what you post above and I have a hard time understanding what the screenshot is showing.
It would be nice if John could show this on a live stream topic so i can understand the steps involved.
Agreed! This would be a nice feature. The workaround is a bit complex.
I think even John might find the work-around a bit confusing - so if it's not obvious to you, then maybe best to avoid π
Another way of doing this would be by using notemate (built in plugin - on a MIDI layer) tab switching to enable/disable different instrument layers - each layer could have a different instance of the stepsequncer in the MIDI slot, and the instrument plugin slot could be running a hosted Unify instance - where you can load any complex/multi-layer patch.
There are a ton of feature requests, and other things to work on too - so we'll add this on our nice to have list.
The built in sequencer was never meant to be an all inclusive feature laden tool, just a simple way to get a quick sequence going.
The wonderful thing about Unify2 is that you can use other MIDI plugins - so you might want to look into things like Stepic or see what you can do with the included/bundled BlueArp.
