Might it be a quick win for unify to have an XY controller to blend between the first 4 instrument layers vector synth style? 🙂 would open up a whole new realm of possibilities with pads, textures and soundscapes and might not take long to setup as would be dynamically adjusting volumes of first 4 layers as current macro dials can do but would be in 2D with an XY pad. I can imagine 4 Omnispheres in a vector synth configuration would sound pretty awesome. 👍

Thanks both for the responses. Shane, would it be possible using the the currently implemented point and curve envelopes in pump house to plot a path across the XY to have a vector synthesis envelope as implemented in the original wavestation?

@ageofechoes Two knobs (one for X, one for Y) would seem to be enough to implement a vector-style mixer for four layers, but it won't work, because the layer levels must be computed from the X and Y values simultaneously. Unify's knob outputs are computed one at a time. The X knob can't access the current position of the Y knob and vice versa.
I'm working towards adding new types of controls to Unify, and I will be sure to include XY pads.

Any update on an XY pad being implemented? There's a new effects VST out with this feature which tempted me. But if it's something that is still planned for Unify, then I'll probably hold off.

I don't have a planned release date for this feature. If the new VST is reasonably priced and will address your needs now, I'd say get it.
BTW which VST is it?

OK, thanks for the info. It was Sample Logic Realms. I'll give it some more thought then because although it is well priced during the intro sale, unfortunately they don't offer either a demo or a refund period.

It's on the change request list, requires some UI implementations and consideration as to whether it should fit in with the current macro control panels or something else. Currently working on some more fundamental issues of concern like rendering reliability or patch restore and patch switching issues - for the next month at least the focus is on robustness and bug fixing rather than adding anything new.

Quite a few DAWs provide an XY pad controller that you could link up to a couple of macro knobs in Unify - so I'd suggest to try that for the moment if your DAW has that feature - obviously this is not a solution for standalone - in that case hardware XY controller pads are the solution.
