When you're not allowed to save sounds there???  Why is it even an option??

Also, since you do have a 'new library' option, why do you need to also open a file dialog to save?  If I've named my sound and selected my library, I should be done.... why the extra step?

All good questions. The only answer is "because I spent most of my time developing the more complicated parts of the code, and after showing off Unify on YouTube for months, we didn't want to delay any longer to fix issues like this". It may seem like a small thing, but remember, you care about the file save workflow, but 1700 other users each have their own different concerns.

Unify isn't even 2 months old yet. It will get better.

I'm not sure what you are seeing as a problem with the "new library" option? I have more than one User library named, in fact, I have 6 depending on the type of patch I create. I agree if a library is off limits for user patches such as the Standard Library, it should at least be greyed, but I definitely want a dialog each time I save patch.

Some things should be fixed eventually, but I'm sure there are some bugs that need more immediate attention and also some enhancements that might also have a big priority.

@larry-ludwick

Just tired of de-selecting the factory library every time.  Every time I forget, it gives me an error message.  Just annoying to have to do it every time!  Shouldn't be hard to remove the factory library option from the list, or at least default to the user library.... why is the factory library an option at all??

All I'm saying is the user library option is designed to do the same thing the file selector does, so there's a needless extra step.

Hmmmm I never really noticed that … I usually create a patch and then hit save, then click on the library I want to save to … since I have multiple libraries, it just seemed logical to have to make a choice.

When I am developing patches in groups, I save, setup the next one and I am always on the last library I saved to when I have another patch ready.

What @larry-ludwick suggests is very wise.

Hmmm.  Maybe because I haven't created my own library yet, that's why it defaults to the factory???

Haha, well it seems like a very polished program!  I will have to bear in mind that it's barely out of beta 😉

I did create my own library, but I guess the sounds default to the library they were created in.....
