Out of curiosity, I downloaded the new Blue Cat Connector to test if it could be used to send audio out from separate layers and it really works. I published a short video showing the setup in UNIFY, Blue Cat Connector and Cubase.

Great minds think alike Thomas! Yes it works well for that and can also be used for routing MIDI.
Existing Blue Cat Audio customers are also eligible for a special introduction offer at €/$29, instead of 49 (40% off).
Having to change the port manually caught me out initially when you have more than one pair of connectors but I just saved some additional presets for "Send - App 8081" and "Receive - App 8081" to make it quicker to set up.
A really nifty app. It also solved my problem getting sound from ASIO(Cubase, UNIFY …) to OBS Studio!

Yes, that's another very useful scenario Thomas.
I spent ages finding a working config with Voicemeeter Banana to do DAW recording in OBS but it's a bit of a faff to set up every time. The other free utility which can be used is ReaStream (free Reaper package https://www.reaper.fm/reaplugs/ ) but it only does audio whereas Connector does Audio/MIDI, in-app, inter-app and cross network.
”I’ve tried all of these and a few more, but nothing worked for me. I seem to have some ”gremlings” in my system😎. With BC it worked without hassle.

Indeed! It seems like a good concept and investment; plus I like to support devs like Blue Cat. I would also prefer to use a single utility rather than lots of separate, free/donationware with limited or no support.
Hi guys, I haven't tried the demo yet but I think I'm gonna buy it anyways. Is there any additional latency when sending MIDI only within the same application?
I haven't noticed any latency within the same app or inter app. I haven't tested between PCs across my LAN yet.
Probably worth trying the demo though as you never know for your specific use or configuration.
This is terrific for so MANY things! Just bought it - didn't even have to think!
Thanks!
Terry

I've been doing that to stream performances and tutorial streams to OBS from Cantabile, Samplitude, and Digital Performer for years, and I just save my setup once I have it working and load it again from the drop-down menu in Banana. But I am really liking the latency performance of this BlueCat plugin, without a doubt.
Also, there now is an ASIO plugin for OBS that I am using to bring my ASIO interface directly into OBS without needing an intermediary like Banana anymore.

Thanks to this video, I got Blue Cat's Connector working like a charm sending Unify's Master out to OBS! WooHoo!!!!!!

Don't be too shocked if when you switch the OBS instance to "Receive" that the screen goes black as the GUI disappears. Just close the window and re-open it again and the GUI will return. (OBS fixes this problem in the next update.)

I just tested two additional use cases (both when using Unify on a Cubase Instrument Track):
- Getting midi out of Unify
- Getting audio into Unify
Both tests worked 😀
Cubase 11 Pro, Win 10 Pro (x64), several different midi controllers

This is interesting!
Blue Cat Connector is exactly what was required to allow all MIDI and INST layers to be output separately from Unify into your DAW. This was the main feature I was waiting for in Unify.
