I hope this is the right place to show you my very first patch library for Unify, released last week on my webpage... (please remove this topic, Skippy, when it's wrong here)...

I converted my sample library Synth Motions to the guru sampler and made over 100 new patches with the midi and audio effects in Unify, more infos and sound demo are on my website http://www.particular-sound.de or on soundcloud:  http://soundcloud.com/xenox-afl/sets/synth-motions-vol-1-for-unify

About the Synth Motions library which is also available for Serum, VPS Avenger and TAL-Sampler, too, it's a library with new sounds i created on my analog and digital synth layered together and processed through analog gear, i used old and new analog gear from Roland, Korg, Yamaha and other brands.

@xenox-afl

Congratulations, Frank. I'm delighted that you've done this, and you turned it out so quickly, even though the process isn't easy.

I wish you great success with this new library!

Hello Frank,

You are right here

I just bought your new Unify Synth Motions Vol.1 Library,

respect for the sounds and how you did that for Unify,

just wanted to tell you that "3-party libraries" work well in Unify ..." You have described the installation very well for all users ...

appears under Librarys Authors as "Frank ´Xenox` Neumann

so wie es ausschaut bist Du der erste der nach John öffentlich "neue Unify Patch Library" anbietet

lieben Gruß

Klaus

@leszek-1953

There's a text file inside the downloaded folder [__How To Install.txt]

"

How to install Synth Motions Drum Edition for Unify...

- open the Unify plugin on your mac or PC.
- click the gearwheel icon to open the seetings menu
- click on the button DATA FOLDER "open" to open the finder on the mac or the explorer on PC
- a new window opens, you will see two folders with the name "libraries" and "presets"
- copy the downloaded file into the "libraries" folder and use the "rebuild database" function in Unify
- open the browser of Unify and change the settings from "all libraries" to "Synth Motions Drum Edition" only just to hear the new stuff only."

@saif_sameer

Hi Saif

Thanks for the info. I've read so much from the instructions, but I mean installing Synth Motions vol.1. Where should I put these libraries?

Les.

In last Tuesday's video John showed how to add more empty Unifies and how to add more sounds in them. He showed it in Logic pro. There, midi channels are set up as if automatically. In Cubase, if I want to add another Unify card, do I have to enter it into the next track in which I can set the next midi channe l?

Regards

Les.

@leszek-1953

In Cubase, as in any DAW, you can put instances of Unify on as many tracks as you like, just as you can with any other plug-in.

What John showed in last Tuesday's video was how to use Unify as a multi-timbral instrument, with each layer on its own MIDI channel, and to use it this way in Logic Pro X.

I am no Cubase expert, but I just tried this is Cubase 10.5, and it worked:

  1. Create an instrument track with Unify
  2. Project > Add Track > MIDI
    • Increase the "count" to the number of channels you want to use
    • click "Add Track"
    • Set the MIDI channels for each of the newly-added tracks

If you add the MIDI tracks right after adding the Instrument track, Cubase seems to set up the MIDI routing automatically. Otherwise, you have to set it up manually; I don't know how to do that.

I suggest you google "cubase multi timbral instruments" or seek help from other users here, who may know Cubase better.

I want to know why in BlueArp how STEP TYPE is highlighted, I can't change the selected settings. In case SCALE STEP is checked, everything works.

I didn't write BlueARP, and I'm no expert on it. Please read the manual (in BlueARP, click the MENU button and select "Open Manual (pdf)") or post your question on the BlueARP forum at KVR: https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=361311

Set up several Unify cards in Cubase.

Hello, I did as you suggested, I opened Unify, added 3 empty tracks, deleted the first of which I created 3 empty tracks, added 3 midi tracks, set channels 2, 3, 4 and everything is fine. When you want to play on one selected channel, select it and play.

Regards

Leszek

If you're eagerly waiting for the update to Unify, which will enable you to add your Midi files directly into Unify, I suggest getting reMIDI from Songwish in the meantime (I'm in no way affiliated to them - just wanted to share my very positive experience with it).

If the MIDI file has several channels, you can effortlessly route each channel to a different instrument in Unify (melody, bass, kick, etc.), or create several midi layers and keep one track per midi layer and then route to the different midi channels. The first option, if available, is the easiest way I've found so far and it works like a charm. Great for MIDI libraries where all the files have the same basic structure. You can now basically scroll through your MIDI files and play them with your intended instruments.

What's also particularly nice about this MIDI effect is that you can 'resize' the midi file, enabling you to play through the chords or keys or size it to play the entire midi file in a loop.

If anyone has found another way that works equally well (or better), please do share.
