I really like the lag feature in Guru Sampler. Since it is only available in Guru Sampler, I have been writing my own lag effect I can use on any VST. I have tried to get it working close to the one in GS. I noticed the time you set on the knob does not match the actual time it takes to perform the lag. At 2.5 seconds, the lag takes maybe 6 seconds.

I am not saying this is a problem. I am interested to know if there is some type of specific reason this was done. Is this typical for a lag? Like the time is meant to set a halfway point or something along those lines?

I have made two choices in my UI. A "Precise" and a "Musical" option. The "Musical" option being more in the style of Unify. I want to understand if there is some background I can learn so I can better understand and explain this option in the effect I am building.

I've needed to use LibraryRenamer.exe and ran into a bug. I am using Guru Sampler with samples from a PlugInGuru library. After running the LibraryRenamer tool, Guru Sampler is no longer pointing to the sample library. Instead, it got renamed to my new library name and none of my patches make any sound. I don't want the library name to change in my scenario.

I have made a fix to this by adding a new checkbox which allows you to decide if you want to overwrite the Guru Sampler Library name or leave it as-is. I made the default to work how it works today. I still have some more testing.

I was hoping to make a PR for this but want to find out if that is OK. It does not look like anyone else has contributed, and don't want to surprise you with an unexpected PR.

Once again, since a number of you here are users of Maschine Jam in generic MIDI mode, I thought it was a good place to query a strange issue.

I have Logic Pro 10.7.5. I found that I'm unable to use Maschine Jam as a MID controller in Logic. Looking inside the CS setup, while the Jam will show up via the MIDI Output drop down when I choose Mackie Control, the MIDI Input shows up as "Invalid Input." When I use the drop-down menu, the Jam is not showing up on the list. I do see on the device that the light brightens on the current track in Logic, but none of the buttons on the device seems to communicate with Logic.

I did briefly opened up Ableton Live to see if it may be a hardware issue, but the inputs there were usable: the buttons and the touch pads, all working.

This is a bit of weirdness and I'm hoping someone else might know what's going on.

Thanks!

Greets Folks:

I have a Maschine Jam controller. It has been gathering dust for awhile, but this week I decided to pull it out and make it part of my workflow and set it on top of my studio desk. I have a Komplete Kontrol keyboard inside the keyboard tray underneath the desk surface.

I have set it up to use with Logic in the past, and have just added the NI Ableton script, and that cool-looking Unify template, which I've yet to use but do have it set up as of last night.

But what has eluded me is to properly set up JAM to use MIDI CC not only generically, but also to control plugins. I have set up pages in the Controller Editor in the past, creating pages on top of the Logic template, for General MIDI, Omnisphere and Unify. But so far, I have not gotten them to work, and I do not think that my setup attempt was correct.

I will state that I'm a MIDI novice, but knowing that such mapping is possible, willing to reach out and also to learn how this is done. Given that one of the members of the Unify community was the one responsible for creating the Unify template, and given that Skippy and a few others in the community have made great use of Jam as a control surface, I'm highly motivated to make Jam part of my workflow setup. I also have a Launchpad Pro MK3 right next to it, but Jam seems to be more straightforward, potentially, for some major tasks.

Any assistance and info to get from here to there would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks!

For my own evil purposes, I recently updated a personal clone of Helm to JUCE 7.0.x and added a VS2022 projucer exporter, among other updates. I now have my own personal copy of Helm vst3 that is way ahead of the official master and master hasn't been updated in 4 - 5 years.

Is Plugin Guru looking for a FOSS vst synth like (a fork of) Helm to bundle with Unify?

I can't personally host a project fork at this time, but I do have updated code I could contribute to a project fork (possibly sitting next to getdunne/MOrgan?).

Peace

But since I am a nerd (obviously) I had to find another solution, so I wrote a utility to solve the problem: The UNIFY - Library Rebuilder.

This (un-?) neccesary tool facilitate surgically adding, removing and changeing the UNIFY library database.

1. If I send an OSC command to Unify Standalone, is there a way I could send what Midi Channel that layer will have? I have two Midi controller kybds, one on Midi Chan 1, the other Chan 8. When I send load and embed patches, I'd like to designate which of the two gets which layers.

2. In the manual you have "MIDI-over-OSC messages use the path
/midi
and the non-standard format code “m”. Could you please explain this more and give some examples showing what has to be sent?

3. Do you plan to add new OSC messages that Unify Standalone will respond to?

4. I know you've commented about challenges to getting OSC working with Unify VST. You said you'd need a use case to justify the amount of work required. Would it be difficult to make it so I could load a couple instances in my DAW with different port numbers - ie like 9001 and 9002? This is so I can have my 2 midi controller kybds on separate Unify instances. I can see where the ports being in the settings would be a challenge.
