Hi, hope someone can help. After the live chat on Saturday and just buying Unify last week, I went and bough Zebra2 and the HZ presets. When I go to just normal instrument, both are there and loading fine. But when I go to the library and select Unified U-HE ZebraHZ, they won't load, saying it has error loading VST plugin. It is there, I have checked nd it is the VST3 version. working and recognising in normal layer. I also have the BBC Core and have no problem with that library on it's own. Thanks in advance.
Hi, probably it needs a vst2 version in order to work, like most of the Unify libraries
@robert-p Hi Robert, It's loading ok when I just create a layer and load instrument, everything is fine on Zebra2 and HZ version, I can combine layers etc, it's only on the Library that I downloaded from Unify website that is not loading.
Sorry, just thought about that there, you mean just the libraries that Unified created need VST2?
This is because Unify is searching for Zebra VST2 and can't find it. If the patches are saved with Zebra Vst2, Vst3 won't work

That's correct in most of the cases, however some plugins are available as vst3 only. In many cases Vst2 is more safe and reliable
@robert-p I can't see the VST2 files, only the VST3 files. Should I reinstall and not select the VST3? I think Cubase is doing away with VST2, would that be an issue.

That wouldn't be an issue, you can have both vst2 and vst3 installed on your system.
Also check this section of User Manual:
https://pluginguru.net/unify/manual/doku.php?id=scanning
You can install both VST and VST3 versions of any plug-in at the same time; one does not interfere with the other, and the disk space involved is usually small. Use the VST3 for Cubase, but the VST for Unify.
If you have older Cubase projects that were made using the VST version of any plug-in, it's a good idea to keep the VST version installed if you ever need to re-open them.
@getdunne Thanks. I can only see the VST3 file, no VST file are there. It's working as a layer. I bought Zebra and Zebra HZ to use the library but I think I have to forget that idea as I can't see why it's not recognising it.

The solution is very simple:
- Make sure you have Zebra Vst2 Installed,
- If not - Install/Reinstall it
- Scan yours Vst2 plugin folder
@robert-p I scanned the VST only files and it found them, I have 2 lots coming up now but it is working..thanks guys!
Click the "Operations" button in the Known Plug-Ins view, and choose Remove "redundant" plug-ins to automatically remove VST3/AU plug-ins for which VST equivalents exist. This may help with all the duplicate plug-in entries.
@getdunne Thanks, I'm scared to delete anything now it's working lol!

I understand completely! There's something you can do, to make sure you can "undo" the remove redundant plugins operation. Unify's known plug-ins list is stored in a file called PluginList.xml. On a Windows PC, you'll find it by entering %appdata%\PlugInGuru into the address bar of an Explorer window. Make a copy of PluginList.xml anywhere you like. Then you can safely remove "redundant" plug-ins, because if you're not happy with the result, you can just quit Unify, restore PluginList.xml from the copy you made, and when you run Unify again, your plug-ins list will be back to the way it was before the "remove" operation.
@getdunne Aww that's magic, I'll try that tomorrow then, just heading to bed now..many thanks!!
I've done what you suggested and seems to be fine and all ok, I'll keep the file on my desktop for now though. Many thanks!!! Can you tell me why, when my Kontact window is open on top of Unify and I try change settings, the dialogue box appears behind it and I can get to it. I have to remember to move the Kontact window to allow me to hit yes or no but it's a bit frustrating. I had unclicked 'Plug In window on top'but it didn't make a difference. I'm using Cubase 11 pro on windows.

What settings are you trying to change? I need to know so I can try to reproduce this and understand what's happening.
I would just like to point out that the title is misleading - it is not the "ZebraHD" library having trouble (there is no such thing), but rather is the ZebraHZ (Hans Zimmer Dark Zebra soundset/library at U-he - $99) that wasn't present.

@getdunne If I have Kontact open and I change a settin on an instrument inside it, when not in Unify a dialogue box comes up in front of Kontact asking me if I want to save or not. In Unify, it appears behind it and I can't get to it. I can't even move the kontact window. I have to highlight cubase on my desktop menu and click the x on the box to close it. I can't hit YES/NO. Hope that makes sense
@terrybritton Of course you are right..I got confused and wasn't sure what was happening..thank goodness the guys could see past my errors
