So I had an idea sparked by one of my viewers who wanted to see the notes light up in my overhead keyboard view.

There are a couple of things that came to mind; one was a program I have used before MIDIculous that has a really nice on-screen keyboard and Unify's ShowMIDI.

What I would love to do is to be able to overlay the on-screen keyboard on top of my live overhead view so they can see my hands playing but the keys will still light up.

I got close to this (as seen in the video), by scaling the onscreen keyboard and then adjusting the opacity so my hands would still show underneath. The problem is that it does not look so great.

I thought why not make the actual on-screen keyboard GREEN so then you could use the chroma key to mask the keys off and only the lighted keys would show on top of the hands. You would still adjust the opacity but it would provide a much cleaner effect.

This would be great for livestreams and such using OBS studio.

Just a thought. ;^)

Thanks for the video. I'd suggest a low-tech solution: overlay a vertically-squashed ShowMIDI at full opacity, positioned ABOVE where your fingers are playing (i.e., toward the backs of the physical keys), so there's no overlap.

I will try that.

You are right that sometimes the best solutions are often times the simplest.
I will follow up soon.
